Ad what?

Ad what?? Advertlets it is. It should mean small ads. Like how booklet means 'small book', in that sense.

First seen in Yvonne's page and later was informally reminded by a fellow reader, I decided to give it a try. I registered and waited for an approval.

Update on 28 March: Just found out from Josh Lim that Yvonne Foong is part of the Advertlets Philantrophy program. She is matched to relevant and charitable advertisers. Not only that, Advertlets is also going to allow other bloggers to donate their earnings to Yvonne's medical fund.

Life went on as usual. Truly hectic, like never before. I was immersed in neoplasm lectures, trying to memorise names of bacteria and parasites.. 'til tonight. Tired I am, I still made it a point to go online to check my mail.

I received an email from Advertlets.com!!

My attempt now is to review this new programme and by doing so, I hope that you might consider participating in it too.

Advertlets is a rather new blog advertising network. But the most wonderful thing about it is that it is local! Nothing beats the fact that this whole idea and innovation originated from Josh Lim, a fellow Malaysian.

Why join?
You can say I am a type of person who tries to grab every single opportunity I can find to earn some revenue online. It isn't easy being one of the millions of bloggers out there. Nevertheless, I still wish to give it a shot. The prospects might seem way brighter for those celebrity bloggers but it sure doesn't hurt to put in some effort, right?

Why Advertlets then?
One thing I find it very 'soothing to the eye' is that Advertlets has a nicely blended layout scheme for its page. Everything doesn't look too complicated. It makes life a whole lot easier for me. Other than its neat layout, I must say, I am very impressed at the fact that it is truly Malaysianised. There are numerous advertising programmes available on the internet, but so far, most of them are not very applicable to people who are hidden faraway in the Southeast of the Asian continent. Therefore, when I caught hold of this, I was like... "this is so for me". Truly, a prayer answered.

I really hope that Advertlets can be able to work both ways, giving advertisers benefits of spreading the word, brandname, announcements, promotions and others by the means of blogs. At the same time, the bloggers gain too. I do not expect to blog for living, definitely. The reason I go quite 'money-faced' (oh, btw, I love the tag 'putting the bling in blogging'!!) trying to earn just a teeny weeny amount is for a simple reason. I want to start giving back to my parents. I am hitting 21 soon, yet I only just started my university life. I have 5 or 6 more to go, not mentioning another 3 years of postgrad if I want to specialise. I won't earn much when I start working in my thirties, but at the moment, it is a good thing to earn some $$ and bank them into my parents' account, giving them back just a tiny portion what they have given me all along. I know I can never repay them, but this is a start. I am determined.

I honestly, frankly, seriously feel that Advertlets way or giving opportunities to advertisers and bloggers is something very much close to home. It is localised to our own country, so I feel that the ads coming up would be pretty much relevant. Unlike some other ads which I have encountered.. for instance, I love fashion, but if I click on those fashion ads by other advertising network (usually US based), I'll be directed to some American webpage selling apparels online. I can't even buy them! Not only are they in USD, I doubt they even ship it all the way here. Even if they do, the sizes might not match.

My conclusion is simple - support our own! When I was young, I always wondered how come everything good must come from the western countries. Is there nothing that we can be proud of now?

I found that one thing now - Advertlets.com

p/s I shall reveal the fruit in my next post.

This is an Advertlets blogvertorial!

Quite interesting! But oddly, I've been unable to answer any of the questions in the advertlet. Perhaps it is Safari browser unfriendly? Hmm, will try again with another browser.

Thanks too for dropping by our blog!

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday.

Hey Lynn Xuan- hope you don't mind me paying you a visit ;)

Selba, whoa.. all this while I thought you're Malaysian but resides in Indonesia. That's very cool. But I think Advertlets did not write anything that says only Malaysian can join. In fact, it's something about "Asian bloggers". You can still give it a try.

Furkids in Hong Kong, thanks for visiting. :) I use Firefox and I think the poll works fine here.

Son, yup. Finally, bloggers have something to look forward besides online friendships and opinions.

Ailing, hi!! No, I don't mind at all. In fact, I'm very touched. Teehee:P

Well... ads is cool... but somehow it kinda slow down your page uploading speed... hmm

btw, just curious, can you link me over here?=)

Hi all! Yes, we are open to all Asian bloggers, not just Malaysians. However, as we are based in Malaysia, more paying opportunities will be coming for Malaysian users initially. Cheers.

Furkid: Thanks for signing up! Yes, there is an issue with the Advertlets poll widget for Safari - we will be fixing that.

Neo, sama sama! :)

Ueiying, it is always not easy to be a part-time blogger and full-time student (esp when I have to go for clinic visits in the morning and lectures in the evening) but we'll try..

Johnson, what is your url again? Can't get through your blogger profile.

Josh Lim, harlow!! Thanks for clearing the doubts for Selba and Furkids.
